Boyd was married and is still practicing as a dentist 2 days per week, staying active and healthy by skiing, biking, boating, hiking and being outside. He was not a snow bird yet but started to look. He felt one of his greatest achievements was to have a family that still likes to hang-out, travel and do things together. Boyd served in the Army. Said he did not need a high school do over because he had a good HS experience. His girlfriends and core friends always Made him do it, whatever mischief he could get into! His other influences were Mr. Gregelco and his dad as a role model, instructor and supporter. His memories consist of the Friday night athletic events, marching and pep bands and going for pizza with friends, and sock hops especially when the Trashmen played............ Schreiber, Dr. Boyd J. Age 71, of Deephaven, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2017, surrounded by his wife and children. Boyd grew up in Crystal, obtained his doctorate of dental surgery from the University of Minnesota, served in the Vietnam War, and practiced family dentistry in Wayzata for over 43 years before his retirement. Boyd was known for his delightful sense of humor, unwavering kindness, strong faith in Christ, adventurous spirit, passion for skiing, and his uncompromising love for family and friends. Boyd is survived by wife Karen; daughters Keri (Britt) Singleton and Lindsey (Noah) Hansen; sons Brent (Kimberly) Schreiber and Blake Schreiber; grandchildren Emma, Geneva, Jackson, and Maddox Singleton, Clara Schreiber, and Charlotte Hansen; mother Elaine; sister Gail (Paul) Becker; and many other family members and close friends (his "extended family"). Boyd was preceded in death by his father, Werner ("Bill"). |
