I graduated from the U of M in 1968 in Elementary Education and taught first grade for three years with the Osseo School District until I became pregnant with my first child and was required to quit. Thank goodness it is now illegal to discriminate against pregnant women. Women have come a long way, but still have so far to go. Marge is widowed and worked as both a 1st grade teacher and a clerk/carrier for the Brainerd USPS. She enjoys indulging herself in all the things she loves doing. She helps bring free ownership program of books to rural communities. The program is named RIF, Reading is Funamental. She regrets making all those missed steps as a Robbinaire. Her greatest influence in school were her peers. The most outstanding memory of high school was missing her own graduation party due to the All Night Train Ride. My little family moved to cental Minnesota. We lived in a 1940's style cabin on a lake which we began remodeling and continued to do so until 1998. I am still living there. I was a stay at home mom for nine years until my husband had his first battle with cancer. I was very lucky to get a job with the Brainerd Post Office and worked there for twenty years until I retired. My children have all moved to other states to follow their dreams and to give their mom a chance to follow hers. I have four grandchildren who are all above average and beautiful. Life is good. |
