Elke-Margrit Offutt, age 74, of Largo, FL, died Oct 28, 2018 at The Regal Palms Largo (Largo, FL), from pancreatic cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Ingeborg Droune.-------------- Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Loren; daughter, Stephanie Kennedy (Chris) of Bastrop, Texas; son, Derrek Offutt of Largo, Florida; grandson Devin; and great aunt, Elke Luetten, of Hamburg, Germany.----------- Mrs. Offutt was born in Germany and imigrated to the U.S. in 1953. She knew 3 words: Yes, No and OK. She taught K-6 off and on for 40 years, being married to a 21 year Marine who moved around. She taught full time as well as substitute, 4in MN, KS, MO and NC. She retired from Onslow County School Dist in North Carolina after more than 20 years of teaching service.------------Upon retirement she and husband Loren were full time RVers and Workampers in AZ, MT, TX & FL and helped to raise their grandson.------- Casual dress was requested for the memorial service (as Elke-Margrit loved her shorts and flip flops). |
